Chilly monsoon morning

I'm up at Mike's place just south of the Grand Canyon. Early morning rains dropped the temperature to 60*, a good excuse for a morning fire. I know I lived in the Valley of Fire (Phoenix) when 60* is chilly.

  1. Nice to have a fireplace to fire up and take the chill off.

  2. Grin...And how can you tell the locals from the out-of-towners? The locals are wearing extreme weather parkas, ski pants, mukluks, and insulated mittens and it is 40 degrees. Daughter thought Hubby was kidding until we got on Black Canyon Highway one morning in January and went by a school crossing. She did a double-take; we just grinned at her.

  3. Nice stone work! 60 degrees and a fire to keep cozy sounds heavenly. It has been so hot here, opening my storage trailer to sort the gear of last year's state fair and start the reload. Regardless of temps, it will have to happen this weekend. My slack to procrastinate on that is now all gone. time to hire young strong help! I have updated my display boards though, and am happy with those. My new display should help the crowd flow, as all the choices are now enlarged and posted on the back drape wall. Now need to crowd around small displays on the front of the booth. They should be able to see, and choose from anywhere along the 40' length of the booth. Here's hoping!

  4. It's been hot here but the nights aren't too awful. We're headed out in the morning to Canyon Ferry and fishing.
