And...

"Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
Another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey, I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust"

Third credit card of 4 paid off today. A year and a month after the last one. Geeze, hope this last one doesn't take that long. Plan A is to have that card and the truck paid off by the end of the year.

  1. When you taste the freedom of being "debt free", savor it. There will be plenty of temptation to return to that slavery.
I have been debt free since 1977. It is a freedom I will not give up this side of the grave.

  6. I paid off all my debts several years ago, except that I kept one credit card. Comes in handy when I have to have dental work done, or drive across the country. Some day before I die I hope to get the balance to Zero. Good luck with yours.

  7. We paid off our debts before we retired. It was one of the conditions we set for ourselves. I now keep one high ceiling card locked away in the safe for emergencies. Our day to day living is paid for with a Visa card for which I have an agreement with the bank to automatically pay off in full every month.

This plan works for us but everyone must find their own system. Piling on debt is never the answer!

Congratulations on your "one more step" towards financial freedom!

  9. Congrats Paula.. I keep the two VISAs to let THEM do my bookkeeping between house/personal and business, and each is used a bit during the month and paid off monthly, and in the last 14 years I have YET to pay a yearly fee.. When they try to bill after the INTRO period I remind them how easy it is to transfer the card/debt/interest and ALL to a different bank card with NO interest or yearly fee for the first year. Works so far. Why pay THEM for the privilege of using their card the vendors already pay them for.. be safe.. Dave
