Almost done

I need to check for leaks and then put the putty on and drill two pilot holes for the other two screws. The original flange had 2 screws, and the new one has 3. I need to get another length of hose to reach in order to test for leaks so it may be Monday before I finish this.

If I had has the wrenches I needed and the correct part first off this would have been a 10 minute job. As it was there was a trip to Apache Junction RV, then a trip to Walmart for the wrenches. I guess all in all this will be a $50 fix but most of that is tools.

I want eyes on the inside when the water is first turned on as well. I have no idea what possible leaks are in there. My coffee klatche buddies will be drafted into helping.

To be continued...

    1. Up to this point just me and YouTube. With input from Sandie and Jim Dixon over the phone.

  2. It's smart to think of having someone inside when you turn the water on. What a disaster it could turn out to be if you had to do it all on your own.

    1. I have this vision of water spraying everywhere inside when the water is turned on. To be honest, everything has worked so far, but I keep ducking anyway.

  4. Nice looking job!

A cheap tool kit like this one from Harbor Freight might be in your future. They are not high quality tools but for the few times you need them they will certainly do. And you WILL need them.

    1. Croft, you have seen my place. I used to have a tool fetish along with the other things as I used to have jobs where I actually used them. I probably even had the wrenches someplace, but it was easier to just go buy new ones. I have everything in that tool kit already, just need to put what I'll need for the RV in one tote.

  5. A good toolbox is an RV owners best friend. Breakdowns occur where you cannot simply pull into a repair shop. Get a toolbox and make sure you have at least one of everything. Flea Markets are great places to pick up that one wrench or socket that is missing.
